Feel Good Food: Ice Cream

Don't let the dip in sunshine make you lugubrious!
Ice cream is a brilliant pick me up and not (quite) as bad for you as you think*

Just a few scoops of ice cream can provide an abundance of two important "feel good nutrients":
Vitamin B12 - Can help alleviate depression by working with a compound that helps to make serotonin, the neurotransmitter responsible for a calm feeling of well being. B12 also plays a role in melatonin production. Melatonin is the hormone responsible for letting you get a good night's sleep.
Protein - The protein content in ice cream from the milk and cream provides important amino acids L-Tryptophan and Tyrosine. These amino acids create serotonin and dopamine to improve mood plus L-Tryptophan is also used in the production of melatonin which as mentioned above can aid with restful sleeping and overall mood

*Portion control may be necessary in certain scenarios. Please eat responsibly.
