Give us a grin and win!

If you purchase an ice cream or sorbet from our coffee shop this week then ask for a form and write down your "bestest ever" joke. For every joke we receive we will donate £1 to Comic Relief!

On top of our charitable contributions, the funniest joke submitted, which creates the largest grin at beckleberry's HQ, will win a luxury multi portion dessert!

About us

We are a family business based in the North East of England producing high quality, hand made patisserie, fresh cream ice creams and real fruit sorbets using traditional recipes and methods. We supply primarily to the catering and hotel industry but more and more small deli's and retailers are stocking a range of our products for their customers’ enjoyment.

We have accumulated over 70 Great Taste Awards, known as the food industry’s Oscars. We only use fresh local milk and cream along with the finest ingredients available. We steer clear of artificial flavourings and colourings and include less sugar than is found in most ice creams making our products more suited to adult palates and allowing their natural flavourings to come through cleanly.

We follow the same principles when it comes to our patisserie too. We only produce in small batches, using traditional recipes and methods. For example, our cheesecakes are made with mascarpone and we make our own sweet pastry using unsalted butter.

Our commitment to making only the very best has resulted in our aforementioned Great Taste Award success, which is more than any other Northern food producer. Amongst these awards are the Best Speciality Food from the North East (on a record four occasions), Best English Speciality Food and the ultimate crown for any small manufacturer: The Great Taste Awards Supreme Champion which was won by our blackcurrant & kirsch sorbet.

Located in the Upper Blue Mall, our coffee shop come ice cream parlour provides the ideal environment for those seeking refuge and refreshment after any shopping experience. Our staff pride themselves on their customer service skills in order to provide top quality service alongside top quality local produce. Beckleberry’s offers the opportunity to savour ice cream and desserts regularly served in opulent retailers such as Harrods and Selfridges, and best of all they are all handmade in Blaydon.
